Violin recital by Ms Marie Tajima

Its been a long time since the last recital we had with teacher Amelia, only last sunday we had our first violin recital accompanied by clarinet and piano by teacher Marie Tajima originally from Japan.

It was an eye opener for us because this is our first time that we have accompanied instruments played together in our cafe. Ms Marie and her friends make an effort to dress up the cafe with fresh flowers and it was amazing that it turn the cafe look like a small concert platform. Impressive...!

080808... is an auspicious day to get married or get registered. Edmund and Angela just tied the knot at the The Verandah Cafe. Its our first ever registration done at our cafe, and it was touching to see them celebrate together with their families and friends. We were impressed that Edmund and Angela with the help of their friends :) did the deco for the registration. This solemnisation would be a memorable one... for them as well as for us.

Centrestage and Electronica I love you

11 Apr, Friday night, Sean Cheong from MTL held an event featuring 2 short film, one directed by Sean, himself and the other by Ms Sze Jiamin.

Centrestage, directed by Jiamin was a documentary on chinese opera. It features primary school children taking up Chinese Opera in Teochew as ECA. It was interesting and motivating to see children putting in effort to learn this tradition art and eventually, able to perform in front of an audiences.

The second film, Electronica I love you, was directed by Sean. It features a very realistic truth on the over and extensive use of electrical devices, living in their own world over the World Wide Web and indulging in TV soap opera too.

It was inspiring to see our young people of Singapore have such passion and talent in producing short films.
Well, as for the The Verandah we hope to see more of this event happening :))

Our 1st piano recital

Guess what!? On 9th March, we had our very 1st piano recital consist of 34 "little Mozart", playing their hearts out!

The Verandah Cafe is really proud to see our future generation so talented and musical-inclined!

Their piano teacher, Ms Wendy Hang was very encouraging towards these "little Mozart". She offered words of encouragement when mistakes were made and gave them the confident to perform in front of their friends and family members.

Being a piano teacher with 20 years of experiences, she had produced a good number of piano-enthusiastics. With good and creative teacher like Ms Wendy Hang, we'll definitely see an endless pool of local musicians.

We look forward to seeing more of such recital in the Land of Singapore!

A memorable evening by Musical Theatre Limited Songwriters Showcase!

Tonight @ The Verandah Cafe, we witnessed the 1st-ever Songwriters Showcase bought to us by Musical Theatre Limited(MTL)

A special thanks to Mr Desmond Moey for giving The Verandah Cafe such honour to host this special, memorable and soul-touching showcase. It was a wonderful evening for all of us at The Verandah Cafe as we experienced the 1st hand scripts from all the performing writers and it's really meaningful! Even plain explaining to us on how they composed the songs have images flashes in front of us.. awfully incredible and amazing!

To all the songwriters, KAM PAK TEI! :)

Looking forward to more of such meaningful nights by MTL... Cheers!

Hey hey,

We would love to thank everyone for spending their love-filled Valentine's day at The Verandah Cafe last nite!!

Special thanks to Kelly, Alan, Sean, Katherine, Kevin, Rowena, Auntie Joyce, Uncle Kok Kin, Aloysius and friends, Nicholas and partner, Stanley and partner and last but not least, those that we couldn't get their names as we were real busy :)

We hope everyone has enjoyed their food and wine and do let us know if there's any improvement needed
:) We are still learning ( we are just 4th month old and please help us LEARN!!)
